Its been a funny old season in League One. I think before the season started, we knew roughly who the movers and shakers would be at the top of the league. But usually its much tighter than it has been this time around, with anyone truly being able to beat anyone on their day. With the managerial revolving door ready to revolve again this Summer, let's take a look back at some of the less popular gaffers in Premier League history. Here is Football Banter Centrals top three.
3. Graeme Souness Newcastle 2004 - Feb 2006
Souness arrived on Tyneside following success at Blackburn and around a handful of European clubs. Despite a promising start of two straight wins, he quickly wasted no time in falling out with half of the squad. Players such as Jermaine Jenas, Craig Bellamy and Laurent Robert were just some of the names left off his Christmas card list. He did not do much to endear himself to the Toon fans by signing big money flops including Albert Luque and Jean-Alain Boumsong. Despite bringing in Michael Owen from Real Madrid who spent most of his time on the sidelines, Souness parted company in February 2006 and in 2008 was voted 'Worst Football Manager' by Observer Sport Monthly.
